Silent too long
Things are a brewin' in the house of slouch.
The farmer's market model has been put aside for the present. Notice has been given at the local bakery. Negociations proceed for a leased space. Don and I are going into business together. I will not say much more than that right now. When the proceedings are concluded then I will spill beans. I will say this, I am quite excited. Finally I will be in business for myself (and my husband), finally I will be my own boss (actually on paper I am VP, he is P, but I quibble not), finally I will have ultimate responsibility and credit for decisions made, for successes and failures. I can say I will no longer be working with my hands, but instead with my intellect (such as it is). I will however still be in the food world, although not in the production end. I can also say that this enterprise allows both of us to use skills and talents we have accumulated over the years. We think it is a good model and a good location, the right time, a good idea and the right space. Time will tell.
As a coda, I will posit here as how this idea would never have come to fruition within the confines of the metropolitan area of NYC. Some ideas need space to blossom.
news soon...
